Anbei ist der neueste Artikel aus der Berliner Zeitung [Berliner Woche]<\/p>\n
\n\u00fcber mein Wallywoods Projekt, jetzt seit 2 Jahren im Kulturhaus<\/p>\n
\nWeissensee. Insgesamt ist das Projekt fast 5 Jahre alt und zu diesem<\/p>\n
\nGeburtstag dem, 1. November 2009, werde ich das Wallywoods Abenteuer<\/p>\n
\nabschlie\u00dfen, und mich auf neue Dinge konzentrieren.<\/p>\n
Mittlerweile ziehen wir um. Aber dieser Bericht ist nicht ganz richtig –<\/p>\n
\nzusammen mit einigen anderen ‚Fakten‘ – wir bleiben noch den ganzen<\/p>\n
\nAugust lang in diesem Geb\u00e4ude, vor allem f\u00fcr organisatorische Zwecke<\/p>\n
\n(Besuche nach Vereinbarung). Die meisten der 12 Klaviere, in<\/p>\n
\nunterschiedlichen Zust\u00e4nden und von K\u00fcnstlern dekoriert, werden nun<\/p>\n
\ngegen eine symbolische Spende, f\u00fcr Projekte und interessierte<\/p>\n
\nEinzelpersonen, in den kommenden Wochen weg-gegeben.<\/p>\n
Um klarzustellen, ein weiterer Punkt: Ich bin es, der den Vertrag<\/p>\n
\ngek\u00fcndigt hat, weil ich wusste, irgendwann bald (in diesem Jahr, dachte<\/p>\n
\nich) werden wir ohnehin rausgeschmissen. Es stimmt aber, dass das<\/p>\n
\nBezirksamt Pankow jede weitere kulturelle- und Zwischen- nutzung, weder<\/p>\n
\nunserer R\u00e4ume und der Terrasse, noch das Geb\u00e4ude als Ganzes,<\/p>\n
\neinschlie\u00dflich der gro\u00dfen Halle, die ‚Jazz-Bar‘, die im Obergeschoss<\/p>\n
\nvoll ausgestattete Kunstgalerie, B\u00fcros und Einrichtungen, ablehnt.<\/p>\n
\nTatsache ist, dass das einst wichtigste kulturelle Zentrum in Weissensee<\/p>\n
\nversperrt sein wird, wenn Wallywoods weg ist, und es k\u00f6nnte noch leer<\/p>\n
\nbleiben, nicht nur f\u00fcr die kommenden Monate, SOGAR F\u00dcR DIE KOMMENDEN JAHRE.<\/p>\n
Das w\u00e4re ein Skandal.<\/p>\n
Ich bin sowieso evtl. weg, aber habe selbst lange alles m\u00f6gliche<\/p>\n
\nversucht, um andere aufmerksam zum machen, unter dem Motto „Rettet unser<\/p>\n
\nKulturhaus“. Aber das Bezirksamt von Pankow und ihre politischen Chefs<\/p>\n
\ngewinnen leicht den Krieg mit Informationsunterdr\u00fcckung,<\/p>\n
\nFalschinformationen und – der \u00e4lteste Trick im Buch — blo\u00df Zeit<\/p>\n
\ngewinnen. \u00dcberlegen Sie, wenn Sie das Riesen Plakat sehen, welches seit<\/p>\n
\nmehr als einem Jahr vor dem Geb\u00e4ude h\u00e4ngt, mit Stolz verk\u00fcndenden Worten<\/p>\n
\n– Die „M\u00f6we“ Theater-Schule Er\u00f6ffnung im Jahr 2010. Das wird nicht<\/p>\n
\npassieren. Viele Quellen best\u00e4tigen jetzt das die Schule rausgefallen<\/p>\n
\nist, weil sie die riesigen Mittel nicht habe, die ben\u00f6tigt werden<\/p>\n
\n(anscheinend) um das komplette Geb\u00e4ude und den Benzin-vergifteten<\/p>\n
\nParkplatz zu renovieren.<\/p>\n
Solange Wallywoods die Schl\u00fcssel zum Kulturhaus Weissensee hat, sind Sie<\/p>\n
\nnach wie vor willkommen. Rufen Sie zuerst an, oder E-mailen, dann kommen<\/p>\n
\nSie und sehen, was wir mit den unglaublichen R\u00e4umen (noch) machen!<\/p>\n

Attached for you is the latest article in the ‚Berliner Woche‘ newspaper<\/p>\n
\nabout my Wallywoods project, since 2 years based in the Kulturhaus at<\/p>\n
\nWeissensee. Altogether the project is nearly 5 years old, and on that<\/p>\n
\nbirthday (1 November 2009) I will end the Wallywoods adventure to<\/p>\n
\nconcentrate on new things.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, we are leaving Weissensee for a new location. But this report<\/p>\n
\nis not quite accurate – like some other facts in the article – and we<\/p>\n
\nremain in the building during August, mainly for organisational purposes<\/p>\n
\n(visits on appointment). Most of the 12 pianos, of various conditions<\/p>\n
\nand decorated by artists, are now offered for a token donation, to<\/p>\n
\nprojects and interested individuals who may remove them, with our help,<\/p>\n
\nover the coming weeks.<\/p>\n
To clarify an important point: it is I who quit the present contract,<\/p>\n
\nknowing we would be told to leave soon anyway (this year, I reckoned).<\/p>\n
\nIt is true, however, that the local borough (‚Besirksamt Pankow‘) want<\/p>\n
\nto refuse all further short or middle-term cultural use of our rooms and<\/p>\n
\nterrace, or of the building as a whole including the great hall, the<\/p>\n
\n‚jazz bar‘, the upstairs fully-fitted art gallery, offices and<\/p>\n
\nfascilities. The fact is, the once most important cultural center in<\/p>\n
\nWeissensee will be locked up when Wallywoods leaves, and could remain<\/p>\n
\nempty again, not only for months, BUT FOR YEARS TO COME.<\/p>\n
This would be a scandal.<\/p>\n
I myself am leaving anyhow – I have other things to do – but I’ve tried<\/p>\n
\nendlessly to get others informed and involved in ‚Saving our<\/p>\n
\nKulturhaus‘. But the local borough and their political bosses are easily<\/p>\n
\nwinning the war of non-information, mis-information and – the oldest<\/p>\n
\ntrick in the book – playing for time. Consider, when you pass by, the<\/p>\n
\nsign which hangs in front of the building since over a year, proudly<\/p>\n
\nproclaiming the „M\u00f6we“ theatre school opening in 2010. That will not<\/p>\n
\nhappen. Many sources confirm the school has finally dropped out because<\/p>\n
\nthey don’t have the huge funds needed (apparently) to completely<\/p>\n
\nrefurbish the building and the petrol-poisoned car-park.<\/p>\n
As long as Wallywoods has the keys to Kulturhaus Weissensee, you are<\/p>\n
\nwelcome too. Just call first or send an e-mail, then come and see what<\/p>\n
\nwe’re (still) doing to it!<\/p>\n
